This is a rare shape Shelley China, England art deco design cup and saucer made in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII of England.

The coronation never happened because the king abdicated the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson.

The cup is 2.75 inches high and the saucer is 5.5 inches in diameter.

The rare Late York shape commemorative cup and saucer is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only very minor signs of use.

A wonderful piece of royal memorabilia, a history of England collectible and a great piece of art deco Shelley china.

The teacup is part of a royal memorabilia collection I recently acquired. Lovely!
