This is an Empire Ware, England square cake plate in an English pub design with a bold orange border and black trim made in the 1940s.
The cake plate or platter measures 10 inches square with rounded edges.
The design has an English village street and pub scene and is in very good ++ condition with no chips or cracks but there a couple of minor flaws to the orange border as seen in the photos, but they do not detract from this dramatic plate.
A wonderful vintage pop of colour, or nostalgic glimpse of village life.
