This antique nutcracker dates to 1899 and is a 6 inch long cast iron plier type crossover convertible nutcracker (top flips over so both large and small nuts can be accomodated) with rough tooth like projections on the jaw and tapering turned handles. It was originally silverplated although most is gone. A great collectible piece.
