This is a fabulous victorian aesthetic movement or arts & crafts movement 8 inch high ceramic pitcher from England. It was made in 1889 according to the registry date mark. The design is called Palms & it has a black jackfield ground and gilt & enamel handpainted scenes of palms,typical aesthetic decorative designs and water birds. There is no maker's mark. Besides the pattern name & registry year number it only says Made In England. It is in very good condition with just a couple of the enamel paint beads having been worn off.
