This is a beautiful handpainted art nouveau mustard jar with lid and spoon made between 1895-1898. The jar measures 3.5 inches in diameter by 3 inches high and feature a hand painted gorgeous art nouveau design of nasturtiums & heavy god trim. It is signed by the artitst but I cant decipher it. It looks like initials--maybe SMG? Any way it is fabulous! It has an interesting mark. The under mark is WA Pickard, USA whom I assume made the pot & then the Vienna mark is superimposed leading me to believe the pot was made in the US by Pickard (that mark was only used 1895-1898) and then decorated in Vienna. The design is consistent with that timing & place. It is really lovely. The pot is in excellent condition, but the finial of the lid has been broken & repaired. The spoon is original & is discolored with what seems to be about calcified victorian mustard residue!
Shipping in the US by USPS Priority Insured with shipping is $10.40.
