This is a horse brass on a strap featuring the shield of Cornwall, England. The Cornish name is Kernow. I brought it back from England. It measures 5 inches. Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate & identify draft horses and are very collectible. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes.
