This is an unusual pocketwatch key from the Victorian era--about 1880-1900. This brass key measures 2.5 inches long by .75 inches wide. The oval hand bezel set cabachon goldstone--a then Victorian newly created fad stone--measures 1.25 inches long by .6 inches wide. The key is all over engine turned in a swirls or circles design and marked with the manufacturers name. The mark in script is Lancaster W Co. Penna. I got it in England, but I believe the Penna to refer to Pennsylvania and therefore be American made. The key is in very good condition with light scratching on the goldstone surface commensurate with normal use as a pocketwatch fob. A great piece. Nowadays, these keys make great pendants. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured with tracking is $8.50.
