5675 - Royal Worcester Egg Cups Pair Unusual

| This is a very unusual pair of bone china single eggcups made in the 1890s by Royal Worcester, England. Each of the eggcups measures 1.25 inches high by 1.75 inches in diameter. They were made during that time as part of a boiled egg holder that held 6-8 eggs in a decorative tray or basket. You then lifted them out into your own eggcup. As they were made to fit into a hole and not be seen, they are much more primitive then the normal Royal Worcester of the day but are marked. I have never seen these singly before, only part of a set. Very fun & unusual. In very good condition with no chips or cracks to the fine bone china. The bottoms are unglazed. The glaze was affected when the name stamp was added during manufacturing. Neat! Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured with tracking is $8.50. |
