This is an unused, mint in box white stoneware pie vent, pie bird or pie funnel. It was made in the 1990s and is marked by the maker The Original Mason Cash, English Kitchen Bowl Company. The Mason Company has been in existence since the 1860s in Derbyshire England. The pie vent was made in Derbyshire England and I got it in the Staffordshire Potteries district recently. The pie vent measures 3.5 inches high by 3.75 inches long by 1.5 inches deep and is in very good condition--looks unused. A fun piece. And practical! Pie birds were developed in the 1500s to release steam from a baking pie so the filling didn't boil over. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured with tracking is $7.60.
