| This is a fabulous tea caddy spoon or caddy scoop I brought back from England. The tea caddy spoon is sterling silver with the British hallmarks for sterling, assayed in Sheffield the correct F for 1898-1899 and the manufacturer is a London maker Maxfield and Sons London. The caddy spoon measures 4.25 inches long by 1.5 inches wide and has a lovely fluted shell bowl and lovely ball tipped finial. It is in very good condition with no dents or scratches. It weighs .55 troy ounce. A lovely piece. This pattern was recently featured and identified in a Town and Country article about antique silver. Caddy spoons were especially designed to fit inside the locked tea caddies that housed that most precious commodity--tea leaves. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured with tracking is $10.50. |
