| This is a fabulous vintage 1900-1910 American quarter sawn oak adjustable morris chair with the original metal plaque for Hemco (Hubbard, Eldredge and Miller) Rochester, New York who were Stickley contemporaries. The morris chair, the precursor of the La-z-boy, has wonderful patina. It has the original wheel adjuster, metal rod supports and casters. The chair was reupholstered. We were planning to keep it ourselves and the original leather upholstery had been long gone and reupholstered in fabrics with a last layer a groovy 1960s floral in pink and green! But downsizing, so...The leather is top grade and gorgeous with brass nails. A wonderful example of mission or arts and crafts or mission style. Shipping in the US by commercial carrier is included. |
