This is a neat late victorian solid carved ebony wood elephant statue or figurine with an ivory eye. The tusks seem to be wood although I assume they were originally ivory also. The base measures 5.25 inches long by 2.75 inches wide and the elephant is 4.5 inches high. This was made 1890-1910 when the victorians were fascinated with the new animals being brought to England. It is in very good condition although it looks as if there has been a repair to a front leg at some time. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured with tracking is $10.40
