This lovely sugar shaker, muffineer or sugar caster is made of porcelain with a beautiful iridescent luster or lusterware finish and an art deco design of a cottage and trees that are handpainted both under and over the glaze. I brought it home from England recently but as it is unmarked I don't know where it was made. I suspect Japan for the English market. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. It would be a lovely accent to any table or shelf or use it! Sugar shakers or muffineers were used by the victorians to shake crushed or powdered sugar on their muffins or crumpets at tea. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
