This 3.25 inch high by 2.75 inch wide older horse brass or pub brass depicts the 3 plumes of the Prince of Wales and was made for one of Queen Victoria's Jubilees in 1887 or 1897 to commemorate the then Prince of Wales, soon to be Edward VII. A very beautifully molded brass with good patination and evidence of early manufacture. Horse brasses were developed in 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses. Horse brasses are a popular collectible today. In England they decorate the beams of pubs & hang by the fireplaces of homes. Shipping in the US by USPS first class insured with tracking is $5.50. |
