This square ironstone plate or dish was designed by Clarice Cliff in the 1930s for Royal Staffordshire A.J. Wilkinson potteries, Staffordshire England, before her Bizarre period. It is a plate in a line called The Biarritz and is in a design called Rural Scenes in black transferware. The plate is 5.5 inches high and 6.75 inches wide. It has the British Registry date for 1933-1934. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. A neat piece by a very collectible artist.
