This is a wonderful antique Regency figural knife rest that I brought back from England recently. The knife rest is silver plated metal and cleaned up very well and has all it's silver plating. The knife rest features 2 upright crested birds that look like cranes or storks or maybe even phoenixes. The knife rest has hand made square nots and dates to the Regency period around the Napoleonic wars. Knife rests were a handy gadget designed loved to support a knife at the dining table and keep the tablecloth clean. A fabulous piece and so collectible! Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured is $9.50. |
