This is a wonderful vintage cottageware or cottage ware biscuit jar, biscuit barrel or cookie jar made by Beswick as Beswick Ware, Staffordshire England in 1936-1940s. The shape is a thatched cottage with it's original, extremely hard to find rattan and wire handle. Most handles get lost and this is original. The reference guide photo of the biscuit jar doesn't even have the handle! The biscuit barrel is also unusual as it has a door on all 4 sides. Fun! The biscuit jar is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. I recently brought it home from England because I fell in love with it. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured is $17.80.
