| This is a neat antique top hat or topper made of beaver skin with a silk lining, leather inside band, gros grain ribbon on the outside and silk lining under the brim. The top hat or topper has a high crown and measures 6 inches high at the crown, 7.75 in diameter at the top and the brim measures 10 inches by 11.5 inches. There is no size tag, but we think it is a size 6 3/4. We brought it home from an antique market in England which was fun on the plane! The top hat is in very good condition with a few holes in the silk lining under the brim, a few cracks in the leather hat band lining and very minor wear on the beaver at the crown edges. Really fabulous for how old it is. Would make a fashion statement, a costume or be wonderful if you are planning a Dickens Christmas feast or Christmas Carol play. |
