This is an antique pale green embossed salt glazed stoneware pitcher or jug with an art nouveau pewter lid from Staffordshire, England.

The fabulous antique English molded relief salt glaze jug stands 8 inches high.

The embossed flowers on it are superb. They look like daisies and there is an embossed basket weave base to the design. The metal lid looks like an art nouveau water lily leaf and has a lovely molded thumb finial.

There is a bit of wear on the hinge but it still works. The lid has been professionally repaired at some time.

The green salt glaze jug dates from 1860-1880 and is from the Staffordshire potteries in England and although unmarked looks like some of the Brownfield jugs I have had.

The jug or pitcher is in very good ++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and is a wonderful piece of mid to late Victorian ceramic art.
