Vintage Horse Brass Horse Head In Horse Shoe 1970s Harness Ornament
This is a horse brass depicting a nicely shaped horse head in a horse shoe that is a reproduction of a Victorian horse brass from the 1890s, but this one was made in the 1960-1970s.
This horse brass measures 3.5 inches high by 3 inches wide.
The horse brass is in very good +++ used vintage condition, but has a lot of impurities.
Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible. In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes. They make great Christmas tree ornaments and paperweights as well.
