This is an Adderley's, England blue and white ironstone cup and saucer made during the Victorian era with a pattern called Blue Chelsea sprig or Grandmothers with applied blue sprig decoration on white made in the 1890s.

The pattern originated in the 1780s and was made under several different names by several potters and was very popular especially during the Victorian and Edwardian era, and Adderley made it throughout those periods.

The cup measures 3 inches high by 3.75 inches in diameter and holds 9 ounces.

The saucer is 6 inches in diameter.

The antique cup and saucer is in excellent used vintage condition, which is amazing for the age, with no chips or cracks, but there is an occasional mineral speck from the firing process, which is normal for this age and material.
