This is a Cunard White Star Line ocean liner MS Caronia souvenir tea strainer that was made between her maiden voyage in 1949 and decommissioning in 1969.

The chrome plated tea strainer measures 6.5 inches long by 2.25 in diameter with an applied enamel shield with the White Star flag and is in excellent used vintage condition.

The MS Caronia ocean liner was known as the Green Goddess because of her green paint work and art deco high style.

One of her claims to fame was being used as a hotel for 500 guests in Southampton as they were transferred in private pullman cars to London for the coronation of QEII in 1953.

The guests were ensconced by Aspley House on the parade route under a covering, which was providential because of the pouring rain.  The guests served white gloved catering before a return trip that evening to the ship again.

A wonderful piece of ocean liner memorabilia.
