This is a wonderful biography titled The Duchess Of York Her Life Story about Elizabeth, wife of King George VI and mother of Queen Elizabeth II who was later referred to lovingly as the Queen Mum.

The hardback book was written by Lady In Waiting Alys Chadwick and published in 1926 shortly after the birth of the Princess Elizabeth but before King George VI became king on the abdication of his older brother Edward VIII.

The book measures closed 6.25 inches high by 4 inches wide by 1 inch deep and has the dust jacket, although a bit tattered.

The book includes text and black and white pictures and covers her childhood at Glamis Castle, Scotland, her meeting and courtship, marriage, becoming queen, royal visits and ends a bit after the birth of Princess Elizabeth in 1926 who later became Queen Elizabeth II on her father's death in 1952.

The  book binding has scuff marks from being shelved, page edge discoloring and a former owner's name in elegant script in the inside cover.

A really interesting book, with a detailed description of what she wore, what she saw, etc. A great piece of British royal memorabilia of arguably the most popular royal ever.
