This is a sterling silver English necklace with a hallmarked English medal or pocket watch fob on a sterling silver rope chain dating to 1952.

The medal watch chain ornament is hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1952, by Samuel Smith Ltd, Birmingham, England.

The medal was awarded to Reginald Channing 5.10.52 for Amateur Ballroom Medalists and in enamel I.D.M.A, or the International Dancing Master’s Association, so an early version of Strictly Ballroom.

The medal is on an 18 inch long sterling silver rope chain.

The medal or pocket watch fob pendant necklace is in excellent condition with normal wear.

A neat piece of nostalgia and history and are now experiencing a revival as fashion jewelry!

Fob necklaces were featured in Victoria and Country Living magazines recently.
