This is a King George VI sterling silver salt spoon all hand made from a silver sixpence from Rhodesia with the crowned profile of of King George VI.

The sterling silver one-of-a-kind salt spoon has been formed into a bowl with a sterling silver barley twist handle added with a twisted, beaded wire open heart shaped finial.

The silver sixpence dates to 1937 which is the year King George VI came to the throne after his older brother Edward VIII abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson.

We acquired them from a silver dealer we deal with in Covent Garden, London England.

The spoon measures 3.25 inches long bowl is .75 in diameter and is in excellent used vintage condition.

This is a great souvenir of King George VI who is Queen Elizabeth II's father and an elegant and historic addition to your open salt on the tea table.
