This is an antique Imari pattern biscuit barrel or cookie jar made by W. Wood and Company, Burslem Staffordshire England 1915-1918.

The earthenware biscuit jar measures 6 inches high to the top of the jar by 5.5 inches in diameter and has EPNS fittings.

The all hand painted biscuit barrel has fancy molded circle pattern borders, the typical Imari colors of cobalt blue, rust on white with a metallic gold hand painted overly pattern and gold trim.

The jar has a fancy handle with a ball center and ball lid finial.

The jar is in near excellent condition with no chips, cracks of flaws. There is some normal crazing and age related discoloration, although very minor, from the oil content of the cookies or biscuits.

There is plating loss on the fittings.

But a very useable and decorative item for kitchen or tea table.
