This is a fabulous antique Victorian era horse brass or pub brass featuring Robin Hood.

The horse brass is an old one and dates to the 1880-1890s and measures 3.65 inches high by 3.25 inches wide.

The horse brass is an excellent casting, is pictured in the Thomas Crosbie, Birmingham England, catalog of 1891, has casting sprews, a concave back, has signs of actual use on a horse's harness and is marked England on the back of the bar.

Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses and are very collectible.

In England you see them decorating the beams in pubs or hung by the fireplace in homes.
