This is an antique black ebonized Edwardian era English darning mushroom or darner made of wood or treen with a turned handle.
The turned wood handle has 2 incised rings and is in two pieces and was made in England 1900-1910 and measures 4.5 inches long by 2.15 in diameter.
I would call the condition good ++ because of signs of use, which is actually great antique patina.
A lot of character and is very collectible. Neat!
The darning tool is a great decorative accent as well and a great vintage sewing gadget.
