Large Wood Shuttle Mahogany Brass Ends Weaving 1930s Architectural Industrial
This is a large mahogany wood loom weaving shuttle or bobbin with pointed brass tips that is industrial salvage, and really primitive, industrial art.
The shuttle or bobbin is mahogany and measures 16 inches long by 1.25 inches high by 2 inches wide.
There are metal mechanisms in the inside of each end and a groove down one surface. The marks are a sign like a dollar sign, SF 54, C18 and hand scratched on 800 and 70.
I don't know where it was made but I acquired it in England was told it was from a weaving business from the 1920-1930s.
We have 2 that are identical except for a slight variation in numbers. Sold separately.
A neat item that would make an interesting architectural decor accent as well as being of interest to gadget and textile art enthusiasts.
A true piece of industrial art and really an incredibly decorative piece of vintage wall art.
