This is a ceramic pin dish or teabag caddy of the character Sairey Gamp from the Charles Dickens novel Martin Chuzzlewit.

The plaque was made in the 1930s by New Hall Pottery, England and measures .75 inches high by 4 inches square and is called Dickens Ware.

The dish or caddy is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips, cracks or wear.

A great piece of Dickens memorabilia.

Decorative dishes like this are being used as small decorative dishes now for all sorts of things from tea bags to rings to paper clips.
