This souvenir horse brass for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II depicting a crown in a laurel wreath measures 3 inches high by 2.5 inches in diameter made by the quality caster Peerless, England with their marks.

This horse brass or souvenir brass was made in England in 1952-1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of England and is a copy of an earlier brass made for Queen Victoria.

The crown commemorative horse brass is an excellent casting with great detail.

Horse brasses were developed in the 17th century to decorate and identify draft horses. Horse brasses are a popular collectible today.

In England they decorate the beams in pubs and hang by the fireplaces of homes, and are also used in the UK and the USA to decorate Christmas tress as fun ornaments.
