Victorian Era Horse Brass 1890s Famous Jockey Fred Archer
SKU: 6469-008
This is an antique horse brass commemorating the famous Victorian jockey Fred Archer in a laurel wreath made by Thomas Crosbie, Birmingham England, and in their 1891 catalogue.
Fred Archer was the greatest jockey of the 19th century by winning the Derby 5 times but killed himself in 1886 and became a bit of a legend.
The horse brass measures 3.25 inches high by 3 inches wide and has sprews on the back demonstrating the brass's age and date of manufacture.
A great Victorian souvenir of a tragic celebrity story.
