Biscuit Barrel Cookie Jar 1920s Sandland Coaching Scenes Hand Painted EPNS Mounts
SKU: 6888-S5
This is an all hand painted vintage biscuit barrel, biscuit jar or cookie jar made in the 1920s by Lancaster and Sandland, England.
The ceramic biscuit jar has a neat all around design of a Victorian scene centering around a coaching inn with wine red borders.
The biscuit barrel measures 7 inches high without the handle by 5.5 in diameter and has silver plated EPNS fittings with a maker's mark of a butterfly which is the trademark for John Moreton & Co. Ltd of London and Sheffield.
The biscuit or cracker jar is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The only flaw is minor silver loss on the rim and lid.
A wonderfully decorative as well as useful item for kitchen or tea table and perfect for storing your Jaffa Biscuits!
