This is a transitional design pedestal bowl made by Wedgwood, England in the Trentham pattern in the red colorway in the 1920-1930s.

The bowl has classical elements with the relief molding of the cream ware and figural ram head handles. But the bowl also has a checkered band which is transitioning into the art deco period.

The wonderfully decorative bowl has the Wedgwood Etruria mark as well as impressed marks.

The design is fabulous!

The bowl measures 4 inches high by 6.85 in diameter by 8.25 wide across ram heads and is in very good +++ used vintage condition with no chips and only a .25 inch firing crack under glaze in the molded foliage border on the outside of the rim, which is surface only and was done during manufacture.

The vegetable bowl was made both with and without a lid, available separately at Wedgwood, and this bowl doesn't have a lid, and stands on it's own beautifully.

A wonderfully decorative as well as useful item for any room.
