Wedgwood Edinburg Aesthetic Plate 1882 Brown Transferware Birds Flowers Castle
SKU: 11697-036
This is an antique late Victorian era brown transferware plate in the Aesthetic Movement, Japonesque or Asian design by Wedgwood, England in the Edinburg pattern dated 1882.
The brown and white plate measures 8.25 inches in diameter and features a banded geometric border with daisies with an urn with flowers, five birds in flowering branches, and a vignette of a manor or castle by a bridge on a lake.
The plate is in in very good +++ used vintage condition with some discoloring to the rim and a bit of pattern wear to an area of the vignette, but very little other signs of use.
A wonderful example of Aesthetic Movement or Japonesque design.
