Gaudy Welsh Plate 1810s Pearlware England 9 Inch Copper Luster Gaudy Welsh Antique Staffordshire

SKU: 11922-062

  • $58.00

This is a gorgeous 9 inch plate of pearlware with flow blue cobalt blue design with copper or gold luster accents which I would characterize as Gaudy Welsh style by an unknown English potter from the 1810s.

The antique Staffordshire 9 inch in diameter plate design features cobalt, rust and green hand painted stylized foliage design with luster accents.

Gaudy Welsh as a style name developed in the late Victorian era by collectors, although most were made in Staffordshire.

The paneled ironstone plate is marked with an impressed mark which is illegible and I cannot trace of a lower case p or d.

The highly decorative and collectible plate is in very good +++ used vintage condition no chips or cracks, but exhibits some minor pattern wear commensurate with age and use.

There may be a mineral speck as well, called kiln dust from the firing process of the 100+ year old gorgeous plate which is so collectible and decorative.
