This is a necklace with a sterling silver carved scarab. The scarab measures nearly 1 inch long including the bale and a bit over .4 inches wide. The back has a carved marks that almost look like A R and other marks that I don't recognize. The chain is a 18 inch sterling silver twisted rope chain. It was made in the 1970's for the Tutankhamun exhibit in San Francisco at the De Young Museum in 1974 and is in very good condition. A very unusual piece.
