This is a fun white & red ceramic tile with a floral border & artist rendering of the famous Empress Hotel in Victoria, Vancouver Island Canada now owned by Fairmont Hotels. The motto or saying is We Honeymooned At The Empress Hotel. This 6 inch square tile has a hook for hanging or 4 cork feet for using as a trivet. The tile blank was made in Sri Lanka & decorated by Verse-A-Tile, North Vancouver, BC Canada. The tile was made in the 1970s and has no chips or cracks, but there is a bit of a flaw on the right hand border where the design has missed a bit. A cute, fun decorative item from an awesome place.
