This is a wonderful victorian gentleman's accessory on home was without. This is a 2 piece tie press. It's made of plywood finished with faux graining to look like rosewood with an inlaid medallion. The press is in 2 pieces, the tie was put between them & then the pieces were tightened using the wing nuts (all secure still)to flatten or press the tie. It stands on 4 original rubber feet. The tie press measures 12 inches long by 4.75 inches wide by 1.25 inches high. In very good condition with a few minor surface scratches & small cracks in 3 of the 4 rubber feet. A great & fun piece.
