This is a very pretty cream color ceramic pomander or pot pourri holder from England with the original foil label, by Sallie Robinson, England in the 1950-1960s. The pomander measures 2.25 inches in diameter by 2.25 inches high and has it's original gold hanging cord and even some pot pourri inside. The pomander is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. Pomanders were developed in the 1500s to scent clothing, bedding and closets and to scent a room to disguise the medieval smells of no drains. |
