Circa: 1937 Condition: used Size: cup 4 high by 4 inches in diameter Color: white Country of Origin: United Kingdom Manufacturer: England
This is an oversized ceramic mug made to commemorate the coronation in 1937 of King Edward VIII of England, uncle of the present Queen Elizabeth II. Edward VIII was never crowned be cause he abdicated to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. The large mug is 4 high by 4 inches in diameter. The mug is in very good condition with no chips or cracks but was obviously used heavily and has heavily tea stained crazing and one scratch on the picture. The mug is unmarked but was made in England and is part of a royal memorabilia collection I recently acquired. Lovely!
