This is an antique lace making bobbin of turned wood or treen with antique glass beads made in Bedfordshire, England in the East Midlands style 1850-1870s. The lace making bobbin for tatting or so called pillow lace making measures 5.5 inches long and has a faceted amber glass bead, 2 cobalt blue glass beads, a dark amber glass bead and a pearl bead. The beads are old and the bobbin is beautifully turned. Lovely!
