This is an antique EAPG or Early American Pattern Glass spooner with the wonderful pattern called variously Actress, Theatrical, Annie, Goddess of Liberty and Pinafore made in the 1880s by La Belle Glass Company, USA. The spooner has a combination of raised cameos or profiles of women in ornate mid Victorian or Civil War era costumes with shell motifs, a pedestal and a scalloped rim. The spooner 5 inches high by 3.75 in diameter and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and basically no wear from use with a good, strong pattern. The spooner is very attractive and is one of the most sought after of EAPG, or Early American Pattern Glass spooner patterns. |
