This is a wonderful antique biscuit barrel or cookie jar made in the 1920s by Lancaster and Sandland, England. The ceramic biscuit jar has a neat all around design of a victorian scene centering around a coaching inn with wine red borders. The biscuit barrel measures 7 inches high without the handle by 5.5 in diameter and has silver plated EPNS fittings with a maker's mark of a butterfly which I couldn't identify. The biscuit or cracker jar is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The only flaw is very minor silver loss on the rim. A wonderfully decorative as well as useful item.
