This is a porcelain lidded jewelry box or trinket box with 3 feet, brass fittings and the design of an 18th century courting couple with hand painted gold. The design is signed J Maire but I don't know if that is the box creator or the picture. There are hand painted gold decorations and trim. The box measures 2.75 inches high by 3.25 inches in diameter, was made in England in the 1920s and is in very good +++ condition. A very pretty trinket or jewelry box.
