This is an Aesthetic Movement late Victorian brown transferware pitcher or jug with a sea shell design called Clovelly made by Ridgways, England on Feb. 2, 1876.
The ocean themes ironstone pitcher or jug measures 6 inches high by 5 inches long by 4.5 in diameter and has a wonderful brown transfer design of seashells and sea weed with a pearl and oyster shell border.
The pitcher is in very good +++ condition with no chips, some minor firing cracks on the base which are surface only and normal for Ridgway from this time period, and some minor discoloring. A wonderful Aesthetic movement design. Fab!
