Copelands Spode Lid Only Blue Butterflies 1904 Edwardian English Ironstone
This is a gorgeous Copelands Spode, Staffordshire England antique Edwardian porcelain lid in the English Arts and Crafts or Aesthetic Movement design made 1904-1907.
The lid measures 1.75 inches high by 4 in diameter and has a gorgeous mottled blue ground on white with butterflies, flowers and a heavy gold overlay and trim.
The lid is in excellent used vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The lid is a very rare pattern and beautiful piece.
This is a remnant of an incredible and complete vanity set including pitcher, bowl, huge 3 piece slop pail and 4 covered bowls or holders we shipped back from England...professionally I might add...that did not make the trip intact. The bowl and liner that went with this lid were smashed, and most of the other pieces severely damages. So sad...
Lids are currently being used as stunning decorator wall decor and this is gorgeous. Irreplaceable.
