Edwardian Horse Brass Famous Jockey Fred Archer 1910 Horseshoe
This is an antique horse brass commemorating the famous Victorian jockey Fred Archer in a laurel wreath made in the Edwardian era, 1900-1910s after the horse brass by Thomas Crosbie, Birmingham England.
Fred Archer was the greatest jockey of the 19th century by winning the Derby 5 times but killed himself in 1886 and became a bit of a legend.
The very good quality horse brass measures 3.5 inches high by 2.85 inches wide.
A great Edwardian souvenir of a tragic celebrity story.
