This is a wonderful hallmarked English sterling silver pocket watch fob, medal or charm necklace awarded in 1925 to the runners up of a cricket tournament on the HMS Excellent, an English Royal Navy ship commissioned during the reign of Queen Victoria that served through World War I and II after refurbishment.
The watch chain ornament pendant weighs 5.5 pennyweight and is hallmarked for Birmingham, England 1925 and the maker J F for James Fenton.
The fob medal pendant is beautifully hand engraved and has an applied shield in front for a monogram but there is none.
The fob medal pendant measures 1.75 inches high by 1 inch wide and is mounted on an 18 inch long sterling silver rope chain.
Overall, the necklace weighs 10.1 grams sterling silver.
The fob is in excellent condition with normal wear.
