George VI Coronation 1937 Original Copper Printers Block Newspaper Souvenirs
SKU: 8567-167
This is an original King George VI 1937 coronation copper mounted on wood printing block used for announcements.
Whether used by the King George’s Royal Jubilee Trust for souvenirs or newspaper announcements of souvenirs of the coronation, the block was for the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England, parents of Queen Elizabeth II.
The block the raised crown and draperies and says Coronation Souvenir King George VI & Queen Elizabeth 12 May 1937.
The block measures 1 inch high by 1.5 inches long by 1.25 inches wide.
I have inked it and printed the block so you don't have to read backwards...and photographed it by a mirror as well.
A very rare survival of that historic coronation that put the Princess Elizabeth directly in line to be the next ruling monarch. Cool!
